Fall Gallery Walk in River North

Fall Gallery Walk in River North

A bathroom took on a chic and luxurious vibe with my figurative art and curated products chosen to set the mood at the 2024 RNDD Fall Gallery Walk.  When I was approached to partake in the gallery walk with City Haus Chicago, TOTO and Hailey Lauren Designs, I could not wait to contribute to the ambiance of the vignette at the newly renovated TOTO showroom.

My own bathroom is my escape and sanctuary. I unwind in my bathtub and partake in skincare and wellness rituals. It is decorated with my own art, art I have collected, and special items like a vintage mini vase, a glass filled with sea shells from every beach I visited, a jewelry tray and a cabinet of tried and tested lotions and potions..

My interest and passion for skincare began many years ago, as I am a believer of selected products and at home devices for maintaining younger looking skin. Prepping your skin and using the right products creates the canvas for makeup and gives you confidence in bare skin. This is also how I see the end result of my art. Using the right mediums will determine the outcome of how my work is presented as I have seen the difference between various products of paint, canvas and other materials.

Maybe it was serendipity, the stars aligning, or life's unexpected surprises, but I was grateful to contribute my ideas and art to the essence of this vignette. The space we were given to stage consisted of a corner of the showroom featuring TOTO's Flotation Tub With Zero Dimension, the world's first zero-gravity bathtub! We decided to create an ambiance of chic luxury for a female coming home from a day of conquests and adventures to unwind in her bathroom sanctuary amongst her favorite comforts.

My painting, Grass On My Skin hung above the bathtub while Comfort hung facing the street.  On the other side of the store the same concept included Wild Rose hanging inside the showroom and Submersion facing Wells Street.  As you toured the showroom, She Dreamt Of Rose In Paris, Beloved, In Her Garden, Tangled Up In Love and The Discovery were also on display.

Inspired by my own comforts, I suggested music reflective of my vinyl collection (because savoring the sound of music on a record is so nostalgic), a comfy robe, science driven skincare, a beautiful night gown and accents of artistic flair curated from the inventory of a selective art collection at City Haus Chicago.  If you looked closely, you would find more surprises, like Fendi monster heels staged near the bathtub, a Rosé on the bathtub tray, the mirrored chair (so cool) and sheep.

Bathroom art is very personal.  In your bathroom, you are your most vulnerable self. Surround yourself with the beauty of art, special objects and whatever you need to affirm that you ARE beautiful and unique.  Below is a sampling of the products from the vignette to shop so that you can create your own sanctuary.  To shop and collect my art, visit City Haus Chicago or go to the City Haus Chicago website.
